War with Iran disrupts Aluminium Production
Economic developments in 2026 were heavily inlluenced by geopolitical conllicts. The war in Ukraine continues unabated and has now lasted longer than World War 1. Toward the end of February 2026, the situation in the Middle East began to escalate further with attacks on Iran. All of this has had negative effects on many aluminium-consuming industries as weil as on aluminium production in the Gulf region; on the other hand, demand for aluminium remains strong and is sei to increase signilicantly even lurther.
